Advanced Interactive Design - Task 1

Task 1: Thematic Interactive Website Proposal

In this assignment, we are required to create a UI/UX proposal for a thematic interactive website that focuses on a specific concept and uses interactive elements (like animation, video, clickable graphics) to engage users. The website should provide a dynamic and immersive experience, encouraging users to explore through interaction.

Submission Requirements

  • Completed UI/UX proposal document
  • Supporting materials: concept, wireframes, mood board, and flowchart
  • All content must be posted in your E-portfolio as part of your reflective studies

Initially, I came up with three website ideas: my personal portfolio, a promotional site for Keshi’s Requiem album, and a fan site for Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Below are the reasons why I proposed these three ideas:

  1. Personal Portfolio: Since I will be starting Work-Based Learning next semester, I thought this would be a great opportunity to create a portfolio website to showcase my work for interview purposes.
  2. Keshi – Requiem Album Promotion: Keshi is my favorite artist, and Requiem is my favorite album. I attended his concert three months ago, and his music has had a significant impact on me. His songs have accompanied me through tough times and helped me heal, so I’m really interested in creating a dedicated website for him.
  3. Puella Magi Madoka Magica: This is my favorite anime, and I feel a strong emotional attachment to the main character due to her personality. Additionally, the show's surreal and aesthetic art style is something I’ve never explored before, which makes it an exciting challenge for me.

Therefore, I proposed and briefly explained my ideas to Mr. Shamsul. He approved my third idea, which is Puella Magi Madoka Magica. For this proposal, I initially considered two approaches: one as a fan page, which is quite common, and the other as a story journey website. Mr. Shamsul allowed me to proceed with the story journey concept, which would resemble an animated experience, and he seemed quite excited to see the final outcome. Knowing that creating a fully functional animated website from scratch within one semester wouldn’t be easy especially while maintaining the desired aesthetic, I decided to take a more rational approach by using simple animations that still make the website visually appealing.

Reflection

As a reflection, the ideation process was quite enjoyable for me, especially since I was working on an idea that I genuinely like. Although the proposal I submitted is quite challenging, as I need to create many assets on my own to maintain consistency, I’m willing to do whatever it takes to build my ideal website. A story journey website is something I’ve never tried before, and I’m excited to learn Adobe Animate to bring my idea to reality.
